About the role:
The Operations & Partnering team work alongside the business units in identifying, prioritising and delivering Technology, Digital and Data initiatives that align with our business strategy, deliver value to The Ampol Group and track the contribution each initiative makes, while ensuring smooth operations by providing reliable support, resolving issues quickly and improve service quality to minimise disruptions.
The Asset Analyst is responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT hardware assets across the organisation, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and optimization of physical IT assets. The role plays a critical part in maintaining data integrity in the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Asset Management modules, and supports governance, compliance, and cost control initiatives related to IT hardware
You’ll take us further by:

Maintain and update hardware asset records throughout their lifecycle (procurement, assignment, maintenance, decommission, and disposal).

Collaborate with procurement, finance, and service desk teams to ensure proper asset tagging, receipt, and deployment.

Monitor asset inventory levels, support asset audits, and assist with reconciliations.

Perform data quality checks and corrections in ServiceNow to ensure accuracy and completeness of asset records
We’d love it if you have:

Demonstrated experience in IT Asset Management, preferably in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.

Strong understanding of hardware and software asset lifecycle and inventory management principles.

Knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly IT Asset Management and Configuration Management.

Tool Proficiency: Experience working with ServiceNow, particularly Asset Management and CMDB modules.

Ability to interpret and analyse data, and present clear, actionable insights.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Skilled in creating reports, dashboards, and insights to monitor asset performance, compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Strong skills in planning, prioritizing, and managing projects related to asset management initiatives
