About the role:

The Business Development Manager – Public Network will focus on sourcing and negotiating commercial agreements on car spaces not owned by Ampol, for the deployment of DC charging solutions. This will involve delivering signed leases with 3rd party retailers and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development and leasing activities by originating, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements or leases for EV charging, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with developers, retailers, agents, procurement officers, and local authorities to position Ampol as the preferred partner for EV charging solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, and stakeholder needs to inform site evaluations, sales strategies, and marketing efforts.
  • Use CRM tools to accurately track prospective sites, streamline lead generation, reduce time to close, and improve the efficiency of the business development process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as legal, deployment, and NDG to support tender submissions, secure deals, and maintain clear communication with landlords throughout the process.

About you

You’re a results-driven business development professional with a strong track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements. You thrive on building strategic relationships with key stakeholders—developers, retailers, and industry partners—to drive growth and position your team as the go-to provider for EV charging solutions.

You're a confident negotiator who can manage complex deals and navigate commercial leases with ease. Highly organised and proactive, you know how to manage a pipeline, move quickly on opportunities, and ensure every potential site is well evaluated and aligned with business goals. Your ability to connect, influence, and deliver sets you apart.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in B2B sales, contract negotiation, relationship building, and relevant sector exposure such as commercial property, sustainability, electric mobility, or fleet sales.
  • Strong knowledge of the EV industry, including current trends and developments, with a desirable background in EV sales and familiarity with EV charging systems and offerings.
  • Proven ability to manage sales processes and reporting tools, influence cross-functional teams, and engage stakeholders to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Highly developed soft skills including negotiation, problem-solving, adaptability, multitasking, attention to detail, and excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Tertiary education in Business, Engineering, or Finance is desirable.
