About the Role
As a Category Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our commercial strategy – managing key product categories and supplier relationships to maximise sales, margin, and space efficiency across our Foodary network. You will support the development and execution of category strategies that fuel growth, enhance customer value, and contribute directly to our bottom line.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Manage product range, pricing, promotional plans, and layout to drive category performance.
- Analyse and report on category performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain the category price file, ensuring alignment with regional pricing and the broader Retail Business Plan.
- Build and maintain strong, profitable relationships with suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Category Managers and senior leadership.
- Lead presentations and discussions with mid-to-senior level management.
- Ensure accurate and strategic execution of commercial programs from concept to rollout.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a buying or category management role, ideally within the retail sector.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Confidence managing supplier negotiations and partnerships.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to turn data and insights into actionable plans.
