About the role:

 

The Commercial Development Manager will lead a group of Project and Functional Specialists, responsible for delivering a wide range of strategy, business development, project management office, optimisation and infrastructure projects for the Fuels and Infrastructure (F&I) businesses, and wider Ampol Group. 

 

Working closely with the Ampol Strategy Group, this position will lead complex programs of work, ensuring the allocation of key resources to the most beneficial areas of the business, focusing on continuous improvement, operational capability, and commercial outcomes for the organisation.

 

 

Key Deliverables of the role:

 

  • Lead complex key projects within F&I, and projects that span across the multiple Business Units within the Ampol Group (e.g. into Retail, Commercial Fuels and Energy, Energy Solutions, Corporate)
  • Lead the Project Specialists and Commercial Development Leads responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of key projects and initiatives identified in the F&I strategic priorities and business plan.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of the Fuels & Infrastructure business plan, driving key initiatives specifically focusing on opportunities to protect and grow the fuels business.
  • Ensure key commercial and operational risks are identified and appropriately managed within each Project Specialist’s portfolio of activity.
  • Present to the Board and Investment Committees the progress against key strategic priorities and business plan.

 

 

About You – Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams across enterprise-wide programs of work.
  • Experience developing strategic initiatives in commercial or consulting (preferred) roles, with a focus on commercial benefit, process optimisation or business development.
  • An ability to effectively communicate, engage and influence with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated success managing large projects ($1m-$100m) and multiple initiatives concurrently, whilst managing budget and resource allocation
  • Knowledge of commercial markets, commodity markets & supply chain management would be preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance or related field
  • Commercially astute leader, with an ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
