About the role

 

In this newly created role, you will provide legal and technical support to the Ampol People and Culture Team regarding employment, industrial & labour law for matters.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Support the business with Contract, Investigations, Unfair Dismissals, General Protections, Discrimination matters in state/territory tribunals and Enterprise Bargaining.
  • Provision of compliance advice in all areas of employment, industrial relations and human rights
  • Conduct research and deliver information sessions or otherwise draft standards into changing areas of law and regulations relating to forms of employment and occupations
  • Support the Senior Counsel in Employment, Industrial Relations and Human Rights matters
  • Participate in employment law streams or other cross-functional teams in M&A or other strategic projects

 

About you

 

You will have extensive experience in employment, industrial and human rights matters. You will be able to provide sound advice as a trusted advisor for the People and Culture function. You will be able to communicate with all levels across the organisation and externally.

 

Key skills and experience:

 

  • Admitted as an Australian  or NZ Legal Legal Practitioner with min. PQE 2-5 years.
  • Current practising certificate or equivalent in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience in either a recognised legal practice group at a major law firm, or equivalent experience in a recognised legal function of a peak industry body.
  • Experience in both employment (individual matters) and industrial law (collective matters).
  • Negotiation in an industrial context.
