About the Role

Join our team as a Cost Control Lead in the Energy Value Chain (EVC) Deployment space, where you’ll take charge of managing and optimising project expenditure across a dynamic portfolio of Deployment projects in Australia and New Zealand. In this key role, you’ll develop and execute cost control plans, track actual costs against budgets, and ensure transparency across all financial aspects. Your expertise in cost management, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management will be crucial in driving cost efficiency, promoting financial accountability, and ensuring the success of our projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage capital and operating expenditure across a portfolio of over 200 deployment projects, ensuring projects stay within budget and financial performance is optimized.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost control plans, track project costs, identify variances, and take corrective actions to prevent budget overruns.
  • Provide detailed cost forecasts, analyse financial trends, and work closely with Senior Deployment Managers and Deployment Managers to ensure accurate cost estimates and cash flow predictions across all project stages.
  • Create and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and tracking tools to improve financial transparency and provide actionable insights for stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Assess and manage financial risks, conduct regular audits for cost data accuracy, and ensure full compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and best practice.

Your strong communication skills enable you to engage and influence stakeholders, ensuring successful project outcomes.

  • Experience in Cost Management, Cost Control, Project Controls, Finance, or accounting roles, with a proven ability to manage a portfolio of projects at various stages of the lifecycle.
  • Strong technical competence in cost management, forecasting, financial reporting, and advanced user experience in Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering. Experience in the EV deployment sector and familiarity with Project Management software(s), JDE, and PowerBI are desirable.
