The role: 

 

Ampol is currently undergoing a major digital transformation, aimed at propelling the company into the future and setting us up for success; integrating digital technology into every facet of the Ampol enterprise, its operational procedures, and its culture.   

As a Solution Architect within the Digital Enablement Stream, you will be responsible for documentation of solution architecture, data flows, and system dependencies, ensuring successful implementation of digital solutions. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing design guidance on SaaS and mobile products, such as M365 and Gen AI, to meet the evolving needs of our business.  

This is a permanent position based in our Alexandria, Sydney HQ, with flexible, hybrid work options available. 

  

 

Key duties:  

 

  • Working closely with a diverse stakeholder community, designing solutions to enable the successful implementation of digital technologies within Ampol group 

  • Identify, advise on and recommend Digital solutions to Ampol business across varied SaaS or mobile products, including but not limited to M365, Gen AI, SaaS productivity tools, etc  

  • Development of a logical conceptual solution architecture, associated high level data flows, interfaces and system dependencies to enable the development and implementation of the ‘to be’ digital solution. 

  • Assess requests and challenge constructively to derive underlying needs. 

  • Provide guidance and support to delivery teams on architectural aspects of solution development and integration, to enable the successful implementation of the digital solution 

  • Prepare and maintain an Emerging Technology Roadmap.  

  • Monitor the market to identify new and emerging hardware, software, services, methods and techniques and assess their relevance and potential value to Ampol. 

  • Identify, evaluate and recommend appropriate suppliers to provide solutions to Ampol business. 

  • Participate as critical stakeholder in vendor solution evaluation. 

  • Contribute to the governance of enterprise ICT architecture by defining the methods, models and tools that describe the organisation's current and future state 

 

 

About you:   

 

  • Proven background in solution architecture, with a background of delivering solutions encompassing various SaaS products (vendor unspecific), such as M365, Cloud mobile/software platforms, AI, Productivity tools etc 

  • Experience within Digital Transformation programs previously  

  • Proven expertise in applying solution architecture principles, practices and processes within enterprise architecture, ICT investment and governance frameworks. 

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities  

  • Experience in large and complex working Enterprise environments  

  • Understanding of TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) and Architecture discipline
