About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Distribution Leadership team and lead the engineering function in developing and implementing strategies that enhance asset integrity, reliability and profitability. 

You will play a key role driving efficiency and performance throughout the development, execution and governance of major Capital Projects. In addition, providing technical guidance and collaborating with the Distribution Leadership Team to optimize interfaces.  

You will oversee up to 8 direct reports and 80 indirect reports, with a strong focus on fostering a positive culture and driving continuous improvement. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Drive safety culture and provide engineering support to meet OEMS, reliability and process safety objectives. 
  • Collaborate across the Distribution business to implement the engineering strategy and business plan. 
  • Develop long term asset and reliability strategies using a Value Based Engineering approach. 
  • Develop 5-year Capital Plans aligned with asset management strategies 
  • Execute major projects safety, apply engineering risk management and ensure optimal asset integrity and reliability. 
  • Build and sustain technical and leadership capability within the Engineering Function.

Key skills and experience: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering. 
  • People leadership, ability to motivate and influence a team to achieve results. 
  • Proven experience in operations, maintenance, reliability or technical leadership role in Major Hazard Facilities. 
  • Proven success in execution of Capital Projects. 
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering value engineering practices. 
  • Knowledge of risk engineering & risk management concepts. 
  • Flexibility to travel.
