About the role: 

 

We are seeking a Head of Projects Technology, Digital, and Data (TDD) to drive the successful execution of transformative technology initiatives across the Ampol Group.  

 

As the Head of Projects, TDD, you will oversee program delivery of large-strategic projects at Ampol ensuring governance and standardisation of project management practices. Your leadership will be essential in executing technology projects that not only enhance operational efficiency but also catalyse significant business transformation. 

 

In this strategic role, you will oversee a portfolio of large-scale projects, ensuring they not only align with our overarching business goals but also propel Ampol into the future. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a culture of innovation and excellence as you guide teams in delivering high-impact technology solutions that drive significant business transformation and operational efficiency. 

 

You will be at the forefront of driving innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that every project is delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality standards. Your ability to establish robust governance frameworks and foster a culture of excellence will be critical in enabling Ampol to achieve its ambitious goals.

You’ll take us further by: 

 

  • Champion the development and management of the TDD Projects Delivery, prioritizing initiatives that drive strategic importance and respond directly to evolving business needs. 
  • Ensure that our technology delivery aligns seamlessly with business objectives through robust demand management processes, enabling us to stay ahead in a competitive landscape. 
  • Oversee the delivery of transformative technology programs valued at over $10 million, ensuring the successful execution of key projects that make a significant impact on our organization. 
  • Uphold project governance standards, methodologies, and reporting frameworks that ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability in all project deliveries. 
  • Partner with key business stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure alignment on project objectives, risks, and deliverables, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success. 
  • Facilitate and challenge your team to adopt rapid and systematic approaches to problem-solving, driving innovation and creating a culture of high-performance 
  • Establish and nurture a high-performing project management function within Ampol, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration that supports the organization’s strategic objectives. 

 

 

We’d love it if you have:  

 

  • Deep understanding of Project Management best practices, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum), allowing you to implement the most effective approaches tailored to our organizational needs. 
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align project portfolios with business objectives, ensuring that technology initiatives drive value and support long-term goals. 
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale technology projects, particularly in complex environments, with hands-on experience in managing project budgets and timelines effectively. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with key business stakeholders and senior leadership, ensuring alignment and shared objectives across the organization. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of governance structures and compliance requirements, with experience establishing and maintaining robust risk management frameworks that mitigate potential project risks. 
  • Experience in change management practices to effectively navigate and lead teams through organizational transformations, ensuring buy-in and engagement from all stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance while ensuring role clarity and accountability. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing multi-million dollar project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. 
  • Bachelors or Masters degree
