About the role

 

Reporting to the Risk & Assurance Manager, the Licensing and Compliance Lead is responsible for leading and managing the compliance of all licensing and regulatory requirements across the Retail Network through fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Licensing and regulatory compliance requirements are necessary for the operation of the Retail Network with the outcome to drive better efficiency and overall compliance by proactive management. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the governance, Management, integrity, and transparency of licensing and operational compliance across the Retail network.
  • Manage licensing applications, approvals, cancellations to required regulatory deadlines for new to Ampol/Industry (NTA/I), including acquisitions, QSR, and closed owned sites.
  • Manage timey correspondence to regulatory bodies in relation to all compliance issues and/or complaints received related to both Retail Licensing and maintenance compliance issues to ensure the best outcome for Ampol.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislation (state and federal) to ensure current compliance with respect to licensing and permits across Retail site requirements including (but not limited to) sale of products, facilities maintenance, building and fire obligations.
  • Lead, research, recommend, and action of licensing developments and changes within the Retail business including those associated with areas such as EV charging, QSR and future business ventures.
  • Initiate and lead recommendations and proposals for continuous improvement, operational efficiencies to reduce financial consequences and improve compliance obligations including engagement of external consultants  

 

Key skills and experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Compliance Role with a focus on Licensing Management and/or compliance to legislation and regulations across a broad range of licences with a strong business adminstration background.
  • Proficient in data governance, project management and effectively influencing regulatory bodies is desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and display high level written and verbal communication skills.
  • High appetite for continuous improvement, detail orientated and problem solving.
  • Confident to collaborate with various stakeholders externally and internally to achieve operational outcomes and maintain the Ampol brand.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently/autonomously.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Microsoft Office SharePoint skills is ideal.
  • Previous experience leading a small Team is must.
