About the role

 

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for leading identification and execution of merger and acquisition (“M&A”) opportunities in the Ampol Retail business to support delivery of the Convenience Retail strategy. In particular, you will be working on 5-10 million dollar acquisitions.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Lead identification and development of Retail M&A pipeline including business case financial analysis, including financial forecasts, synergy analysis, valuation and returns analysis
  • Prepare presentations for potential M&A opportunities for Investment Committee and Board approval
  • Action due diligence process and coordinate key internal and external stakeholders and the development of transaction structuring to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Monitor market activity and communicate updates to Retail Leadership Team

 

About you

 

You will have excellent financial analysis and modelling, corporate finance and valuation skills, as well as a solid understanding of transaction and/or investment structuring. You will have the proven ability to deliver strong M&A process and due diligence.

 

Key skills and experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Economics, Finance, or related discipline
  • Relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, private equity and/or industry equivalent roles
  • Track record of playing a key role in M&A execution and/or investments
  • Desirable: retail, QSR, downstream oil & gas or industrials experience
