About the Role 

 

We have two opportunities to join our Government Affairs team or Energy Solutions team within Ampol (Oil and Energy industry).

You will drive policy and communication strategies across the business, remaining up to date with external impacts. The successful candidate will manage both current and emerging corporate affairs, providing expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders on regulatory and policy developments.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Drive proactive policy development including managing internal approvals
  • Develop engagement strategies to communicate key stakeholders
  • Analyse and monitor potential impacts, offering insights and support to the Board and business units
  • Shape and respond to government policy positions related to Oil and Energy
  • Build strong relationships across Ampol to improve awareness and understanding of regulatory and policy impacts
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business and aim to promote Ampol’s interests

 

About You 

 

We are seeking individuals with a continuous improvement mindset who can navigate complexity and ambiguity within an evolving industry. This role requires high stakeholder management and a deep understanding of policy and internal/external communication.

 

Key Skills and Experience 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.  
  • Experience in corporate communications or public relations
  • Strong understanding of policy-making, public relations, communication and regulatory processes. 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and the ability to engage key stakeholders
