About the Role 

 

Reporting to the National Retail Communications, Engagement & Deployment Manager, the Retail Communications, Engagement & Deployment Advisor is responsible for supporting the execution of the retail communication and deployment strategy, as well as supporting the broader Retail Excellence team. The role primarily involves managing internal operations support platforms and contributing to all aspects of the communications and engagement stream — including communicating messages and content to over 6,000 employees and assisting in delivering the retail events program. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Support the management of internal retail platforms, compliance, governance, and deployment reporting, analysis, and feedback. 
  • Manage the store support inbox, analyse escalation trends, and provide recommendations to the Retail Excellence team for improvement. 
  • Identify opportunities within the retail platforms to drive efficiencies and simplify the end-user experience. 
  • Support the development of store operational processes, procedures, and other documents as required. 
  • Draft and execute communications in support of the communications and engagement stream. 
  • Assist in delivering the retail events program, such as Store Manager Roadshows. 

 

About You 

 

You will play a critical role in ensuring the retail communications, engagement, and deployment plan remains fit for purpose and continues to drive improvements across the Ampol Retail Store network. You will have the capability to engage and build strong stakeholder partnerships and the ability to be versatile in a highly dynamic environment, ensuring projects are well-managed and delivered successfully. 

 

This role would suit a highly experienced retail operations professional from a similar Retail, FMCG, or convenience background. Multi-tasking, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to liaise with and influence a range of stakeholders while maintaining accountability are essential. 

 

Key Skills and Experience 

 

  • Proven project management experience in retail operations, ideally within a Retail/FMCG/convenience background. 
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong written, verbal communication, consultation, and organisational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders across various levels of the business to achieve operational outcomes. 
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to interpret trends and influence the business based on findings and recommendations. 
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams. 
  • Understanding of Adobe Design Suite (InDesign) – desirable.
