About the role:

 

Reporting to the National Carrier Operations Manager, the Senior Carrier Contract Manager is primarily responsible for leading the management of Bulk Carrier contracts within the Carrier Operations Group. The role includes providing senior level support to the National Carriers Operations Manager in the development of the Carrier Operations national strategy, overseeing consistent and harmonised operational excellence processes, undertaking high value & escalated Carrier Contract Management, and providing mentoring and coaching to the Carrier Contract Manager Team.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Support the development of national strategy and ensure carrier contract are managed effectively and efficiently
  • Lead commercial negotiations for Carrier contract improvement and achieve successful outcomes for all parties
  • Ensure provision of effective fuels, supply chain and logistics service are aligned to the strategy
  • Understand customer requirements to make deliveries in a safe, efficient, cost effective manner to meet customer requirements
  • Support the implementation of Ampol’s national logistics and supply chain strategies
  • Manage safe fleet operations across all Supply Chain and ensure Carriers meets statutory, regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Completion of site assessments
  • Work with Carriers to embed a continuous improvement and incident free culture within their organisations
  • Continuous engagement with the National Scheduling Manager on issues that arise with the schedule
  • Work closely with the Freight Solutions team to identify and develop optimisation strategies to improve Carrier service and cost performance  

 

 

About you:

 

You have the ability to work at a high strategic level combining with previous experience in Contract Management ideally in the Transport Industry. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong stakeholder management and engagement.

 

You bring high level of commitment, work ethic and strong focus on continuous improvement which will enable you to thrive in this position and achieve business outcomes and excellence.

 

 

Key skills and experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the transport industry is desirable
  • Contract management experience
  • Experience in safe tanker fleet operation
  • High level of strategic skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in Emergency response situation
  • Experience petroleum product supply chain
  • Proven knowledge of relevant laws and statutes applying to the transport of petroleum products.
