About the role: 

 
The Enterprise Technology & Software Engineering team connect and build the technology tools that help our group work smarter, faster, and more efficiently. 

 
We achieve this by focusing on the configuration, development and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Technology platforms, our approach is seamless and iterative, prioritizing agility and adaptability. By integrating modern engineering approaches and fostering a culture of constant innovation, we ensure that our core building blocks not only support current needs but also scales effortlessly for future growth. 

 

This position is responsible for support, maintenance, and ongoing development of Ampol’s Salesforce platform. You will work closely with B2B and Customer Service to identify current and future requirements and recommend, develop, and implement solutions in line with the wider enterprise technology architecture.  

 

 

You’ll take us further by: 

 

  • Maintaining the performance and integrity of Salesforce platform  
  • Periodically review the systems capability and capacity to ensure they meet the requirements of the business. 
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs. 
  • Conduct impact analysis and risk assessments for proposed Salesforce changes, ensuring minimal disruption to existing business operations. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including process flows, data models, and system configuration guides for ongoing support and compliance. 
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and effective delivery of Salesforce-based solutions. 
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), training sessions, and post-deployment support to ensure successful adoption of new Salesforce features and enhancements. 
  • Stay up to date with Salesforce platform updates, releases, and industry trends to proactively recommend innovative solutions and maintain system relevance. 

 

 

We’d love it if you have:  

 

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator - with extensive hands-on experience in Salesforce Sales and Service Cloud. 
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Salesforce SME in large, complex enterprise environments – including incident response, service requests and working as a point of contact for the wider business.  
  • Strong foundational knowledge of IT systems - both applications and infrastructure -including development lifecycles, operational best practices, and change management frameworks 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience working across a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders  
  • Capable of managing and prioritising multiple requests, balancing urgency with long-term value delivery. 
  • Experience working autonomously - Independently reviews requirements and develops actionable plans; able to guide others with technical insight when needed. 
  • Expertise in gathering, documenting, and modelling user requirements using tools like data flow diagrams, process maps, use cases, and user stories.
