About the role:
 

The Operations & Partnering team work alongside the business units in identifying, prioritising and delivering Technology, Digital and Data initiatives that align with our business strategy, deliver value to Ampol/Z and track the contribution each initiative makes, while ensuring smooth operations by providing reliable support, resolving issues quickly and improve service quality to minimise disruptions.
 


This role is responsible for uplifting the maturity of software licence management and related reporting ensuring compliance, alignment to policies and regulatory requirements and managing expenditure.

 

 

You’ll take us further by:

 

  • Support the overall financial operations of the TDD department by establishing procedures and tooling required to perform following functions:
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote best practices in SAM, driving cost-efficiency, security, and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of software procurement, deployment, usage, and renewal to optimise cost and minimize risks.
  • Provide strategic guidance on software licensing models, intellectual property protection, and legal compliance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to software asset acquisition, changes, or continued usage.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, and business teams to ensure software investments align with organisational goals and compliance standards.
  • Improve group deals and provide negotiations data points in licencing consumption for procurement and relevant system owners.

 

 

We’d love it if you have:

 

  • Extensive experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), including software licensing, vendor negotiations, and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing agreements, audit processes, and intellectual property protection.
  • Experience in implementing Software Asset Management (SAM) tools and processes to track, manage, and optimise software assets.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Expertise in risk assessment, ensuring proactive management of software related security and financial risks.
  • Create, analyse and monitor budgets in line with organizational and project/program criteria; identify trends and forecasts.
  • Evaluate financial data to provide insights into an organization's fiscal health and support informed decision-making.
