About the role:

Reporting to the Communications Planning Manager, the Social Media Specialist is responsible for calendar and content planning and development for social media channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.

 

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery and front-line execution of the Foodary and Ampol social media channels. You will also be visible across the wider business, working with key stakeholders including Merchandise, Corporate, Brand and Communications and Human Resources on content development.

 

The role includes marketing campaign support, management of the always on social media marketing budget, crisis management, post campaign reporting, analysis and recommendations.

 

This is an 8-month maternity leave cover role, which is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their career. This role will best suit someone who can roll up their sleeves and help the business, but also has the confidence to develop the brand and channel Social Media strategy, including the overarching approach, objectives, channel look and feel and tone of voice.

 

About you:

You thrive in partnering with the business, offering support and delivering solutions. Initiative, ownership, attention to detail and accountability will be key. You have a good track record in timeline management skills and the capacity to work effectively and deliver high quality outputs in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is extremely passionate about social media and who is excited to learn about different aspects of the business. You'll also need to be up for having some fun along the way!
 

To be successful you will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing, either for an agency partner or working in-house
  • Experience with campaign planning and usage of management tools, including Facebook Business Manager
  • Experience briefing and managing agencies and other third parties
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media listening/monitoring tools, such as Social Sprout
  • Experience with crisis management in a social media capacity
  • Impeccable attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience writing copy for social media posts
