About the role

Proactively investigate, gather and report on relevant procurement data and information (performance, categories, contracts, supply market, suppliers or orders) to support the procurement team. This includes the provision of high-level, detailed or complex analysis. Provide support to key projects and initiatives relating to the Procurement framework.

Key responsibilities

Data Analytics and Reporting

• Prepare periodic reports (using Power BI, Excel, Sharepoint, PPT) for Procurement and other stakeholders such as Governance Dashboard, Spend Dashboard, Late PO, Contract Leakage and other value added information
• Perform data analytics to identify data mismatch and opportunity such as contract value leakage, compliance, vendor consolidation, etc...
• Support tactical procurement initiatives to deliver value to the business
• Conduct analysis of spend and supply markets
• Prepare and present reports to management as required

Project Support

• Contribute and/or Support the Procurement team with execution of key projects including system and/or process enhancements, sourcing initiatives, improvement opportunities etc
• Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Operational support, administration and governance

• Provide support for the team where required
• Educate business partners on procurement policies and practices
• Support activities in relation to supplier management and governance reporting (ie. Supplier Code of Conduct; payment Times Reporting Scheme and other related programs)
• Identify, report and escalate governance risks
• Develop user guides and conduct end user training on Procurement processes and systems as required
• Perform administrative tasks required to support the procurement system(s).
• Manage any other requests from PLT.

Deliver Sustained Relevant Value to Business Partners

• Advise and recommend category, contract and supplier activities/opportunities
• Conduct measurement and reporting to support continuous improvement programs

Leadership, People and Culture

• Leverage experience and subject matter knowledge to support the team and deliver outcomes
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Ampol entities and external parties.
• Stay abreast of developments within the Procurement profession.
• Be a role mode, set expectations and guide delivery of procurement activities

Qualifications & experience

• Tertiary qualification preferred
• Procurement profile preferred however not mandatory (e.g. operations, finance, management consultant)
• Essential: Microsoft Power BI or advanced Excel. Project support experience preferred. Technical system support experience (troubleshooting, issue resolution)
• Previous experience in Procurement or similar based role

Skills & Knowledge

• Working experience with financial information processing systems/applications (e.g. SAP, eSourcing platforms).
• Working knowledge on e-Sourcing platforms
• Working experience with Power BI, Tableau or advanced Excel
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).
• Broad knowledge of Ampol organization and its areas of operation.
• Ability to communicate across all levels in the Business.
• Willingness to take on new tasks as the company grows and evolves.
