About the role

This position will be part of the Treasury (Middle Office) team, monitoring, assessing and administering Trade Finance related matters arising from Ampol Trading and Shipping activities. 

The position will consolidate various payment and trade finance related responsibilities and will undertake the day-to-day operations of trade finance to support the activity of the Ampol Trading and Shipping team.

 

Key responsibilities

Accountable for:

  • Trade Finance Operations
  • Monitor and manage performance against credit limit, PCGs and LCs.
  • Liaise with counterparties/banks for Import and Export LC issuance
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that trade/shipment information and in-line with LC issued or received.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to prepare export documents for presentation to Negotiation bank for Export LC.
  • Ensure that all LCs (Import/Export) are issued in accordance with Treasury Policy.
  • Coordinate establishment of PCGs including seeking legal, Tax and Treasury review & sign off.

 

Other

  • Maintain an updated PCG register.
  • Maintain working relationship with relationship Trade Finance bank
  • Other Ad-hoc projects

 

Qualifications & experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Economics/Finance and Accounting
  • At least 2 years of working experience in similar role
  • Experience with LC administration and familiar with the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits
  • Experience working with physical commodities
  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry
  • Independent and responsible
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
