About the role
In this role you will engage with category managers, relevant business partners and stakeholders in conducting data analysis, agreed sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract implementation and management activities, and validating benefits claims in accordance with approved category plans and the overarching portfolio plan. This position is an initial 12-month contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the team across all categories to deliver agreed activities as set out in category plans or in response to business needs.
- Lead procurement initiatives to deliver value to the business
- Conduct evaluation processes to determine optimal supply sources
- Draft, negotiate and implement contractual agreements
- Conduct analysis of spend and supply markets to identify new opportunities to save money, innovate, improve service and reduce risk
- Review spend commitments to ensure compliance to policies and agreed strategies
About you:
The ideal candidate will be a motivated high performing individual who will support the team in delivering exceptional category management. You will effectively influence the future direction of the business, whilst aligning with the procurement strategic plan, complying with procurement policies and processes.
Key skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (business) or experience in a similar procurement role
- Experience and knowledge of procurement fundamentals, sourcing and negotiations, contract implementation and management
- Experience in category portfolio (facilities maintenance, engineering, industrial services is desirable)
- Procurement professional certification (CIPS) desirable only
