About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Team Lead to champion the reliability and performance of our critical Terminals and Pipelines infrastructure.
In this pivotal role, you'll oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, manage budgets and contractors, and optimise spare parts inventory — all while ensuring safe, efficient operations. You'll be at the forefront of continuous improvement, safety leadership, and technical development for a high-performing maintenance team.
In addition, you’ll provide leadership and direction of two Maintenance Coordinators and coordinate technical upskilling within the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead End-to-End Maintenance Operations: Manage preventive and corrective maintenance across NSW distribution sites, integrating work with project schedules to ensure safe, efficient execution.
- Oversee Financial and Contractor Performance: Manage OPEX budgets, cost optimisation, contractor reviews, and safety investigations, ensuring value and compliance.
- Drive KPIs and Continuous Improvement: Monitor maintenance performance metrics, lead dashboard reporting, and implement improvement initiatives.
- Optimise Inventory and Procurement: Coordinate spare parts strategy, approve high-value quotations, validate invoices, and ensure procurement alignment.
- Develop Team Capability: Lead technical training, succession planning, and act as a subject matter expert to support both team development and business goals.
About you:
You are a natural leader and passionate about asset reliability, thrive on collaboration, and have a keen eye for detail. Your dynamic leadership capability and ability to build internal and external key stakeholder relationships will help you thrive in this role.
You’ll have proven experience in Petroleum or Manufacturing industry, high level of problem solving and analytical skills. In addition, a depth understanding of maintenance systems and processes with the ability to implement high performance.
Key skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications or trade certification in a heavy industry maintenance discipline
- Proficient in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems. SAP experience is desirable
- Experience in Petroleum or manufacturing industry across operations, maintenance, engineering or reliability
- OPEX budget planning and cost control experience
- Proven experience in change management initiates and contract management
- Familiar with process safety and integrity management
- Sound knowledge of risk management principles within Major Hazard Facilities
