About the role:

Working under the direction of Integrity Inspectors and Inspection Engineers, this is a great opportunity to gain deep knowledge and experience in the static equipment integrity management at our Lytton Refinery.

 

The position will focus on the development and optimisation of static equipment integrity inspection programs, fabrication, installation, modification and repair of static equipment and associated devices.

 

We are looking to develop the skills of the successful candidate in codes, standards, specifications, and regulations relevant to static equipment integrity management, as well as providing the attainment of formal Integrity Inspector (API or AICIP) certifications.

 

Key responsibilities.

  • Gain experience and knowledge in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) reviews, development and implementation of RBI mitigations and inspection strategies for static equipment and associated devices.
  • Learn to monitor performance of critical process and corrosion monitoring parameters for changes that may impact on reliability and integrity of static equipment.
  • Accompany and support Inspectors in conducting in-service inspections on static equipment and structures and gain experience in documenting findings in the RBI database and Inspection document management system.
  • Assist Inspectors to ensure scheduled inspections and IRR notifications have clearly defined inspection activities and scope of works to enable timely planning and scheduling.
  • Actively participate in planning and scheduling meetings and assist Inspectors to ensure inspection priorities are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assist in providing technical support and guidance on inspection condition assessments, remaining life, fitness for service and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for own personal safety, care for the health and safety of others and maintain compliance with site critical safety rules.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across stakeholder groups to ensure priorities are clearly communicated and understood.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Essential
    • Trade Qualification in Welding or Mechanical fitting, or Qualified NDT Technician.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant trade or NDT in oil refining, petrochemical, oil and gas or related heavy industry.
    • General understanding of inspection process in related industry.
    • Computer literacy in maintenance and business applications
    • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
    • Based in Brisbane or willing to relocate.
