About the role 

 

Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will be responsible for driving a culture of safety and compliance across our Distribution network. You'll provide strategic WHS advice, lead incident investigations, and develop safety initiatives. You'll collaborate with leaders and stakeholders at all levels to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. 

 

 

Key responsibilities 

 

  • Analyse, review and recommend improvements to WHS strategies, processes and procedures to facilitate regulatory and legislative compliance and our organisational objectives. 
  • Be the SME to provide strategic advice and support line leaders to facilitate the management of WHS, encompassing risk identification and mitigation, injury prevention and wellbeing. 
  • Lead incident investigations in an effective and timely manner, to identify root causes and corrective actions. 
  • Develop and present safety initiatives based on operational requirements. 
  • Contribute to WHS reporting to enable effective monitoring and management of compliance and emerging issues. 
  • Delivery safety related training and provide coaching as required. 

 

 

About you 

 

You bring proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a high risk environment. Your ability to quickly adapt to a range of situations, solve problems effectively, and prioritise tasks sets you apart. With a strong passion for WHS, a high level of work ethic, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and strong stakeholder management, you are well-equipped to thrive in this role. 

 

Key skills and experience 

 

  • Proven experience in a WHS role in a high risk environment. 
  • Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent. 
  • Experience in WHS risk management, incident investigations and procedural review. 
  • Experience delivering training on safety related topics 
  • Sound knowledge of relevant WHS regulations and legislations. 
  • Good problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
