About the role:

 

Reporting to the Territory Manager, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled transport scheduler, planner, or manager. It encompasses overseeing operations concerning a fleet of heavy vehicles, offering a diverse and extensive scope. Your responsibilities include scheduling customer deliveries, overseeing fleet assets & compliance, and achieving safe and efficient logistics outcomes. Additionally, you'll be supporting a team of drivers within Sydney, managing their performance through the implementation of safe work practices.

 

This position offers dynamic, hands-on involvement encompassing diverse challenges, granting exposure to logistics, operations, compliance, customer service, and safety. Consequently, it serves as a gateway to a multitude of opportunities across various areas within the Ampol business.

 

The typical work hours are from Monday to Friday. However, being contactable and responsive to the driving team for operational issues outside regular hours and during weekends is necessary.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Collate, schedule, and allocate customer orders to trucks/drivers across the Sydney Territory.
  • Optimise transport decisions such as supply point, truck type, size, and delivery routes to achieve efficient logistics outcomes.
  • Lead and promote site Health, Safety, and wellbeing.
  • Meet fleet compliance, auditing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting emergency response and incident investigations.
  • Provide quality, front-line service to all Ampol customers including support, sales enquiries, quotations and processing, customer account enquiries and proactive relationship management.
  • Support the Territory Manager with continuous improvement and business development

 

 

Skills and experience:

 

  • Previous involvement in scheduling and planning within Transport & Logistics.
  • Commitment to Fleet Safety, Compliance, and Cost Efficiency.
  • Familiarity with heavy vehicle regulations, including Mass and Fatigue Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in independent problem-solving and effective decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills and adeptness in managing customer relationships.
  • Experience in leading or supervising teams.
  • Willingness to adhere to policies, procedures.
  • Experienced in Dangerous Goods/Petroleum (preferred but not essential)
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Business, Logistics/Transport, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)
