About the role:

The Bid Specialist works as a member of the Bid Management team within B2B Sales Operations.


This role partners with B2B sales channels, product and pricing teams, plus key internal stakeholders to project manage and execute sales bids and tenders for Ampol. This end-to-end role will drive development of the offer proposition, evidence, and customer communication collateral.


In collaboration with the National Bid Manager, you will provide input into standardisation of Corporate and SME sales tools, including tender submissions, pitch presentations and proposals and lift all aspects to a “best in class” status.


About you:

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strategic sales knowledge, including the ability to identify customer requirements and successfully articulate differentiators, benefits and win themes demonstrating our ability to meet customer needs and requirements.


You will have strong end-to-end bid process knowledge, stakeholder engagement, writing and project management skills, while also having the ability to learn quickly, communicate and influence effectively, and work under pressure alongside senior sales professionals.


You’re a team player, with a growth mindset and a strong customer first mentality.  You will have high attention to detail and the ability to produce quality, customer facing material for our largest customers.


You will have previous experience influencing leadership teams and key stakeholders in Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, HSE, Legal and Pricing groups.


  • 5+ years’ experience within a corporate B2B sales and marketing bid team function
  • Establishing bid plans and ensuring the tender response process is organised and communicated effectively to all relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to transform technical information into clear, compelling, succinct content for bids and tenders
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet external deadlines
  • Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to think “outside the box” and look for alternative solutions
  • Permanent position, new office in Alexandria in September 2021
